Your employees need to feel like there is something for them to strive for. If you can let them know that they have the potential for a career with your company, then they will be less willing to listen to recruiters for competing manufacturing plants when their phone rings.

Everyone wants to feel like their effort is being noticed. When your employees meet their goals, make sure that you reward them.
If you want your employees to stick around, then they need to feel valued. Take the time to purchase gift cards to a restaurant or offer some sort of other incentives for high-quality work and your employees will have their eye on the prize, instead of eyeballing the competition.
